Grim View On New Sydney Shipping Terminal
The Australian Department of Navy remain firm on their recent announcement that Garden Island is NOT a practical idea for providing a second international cruise terminal, east side of Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Cruise operators in Australia were perplexed with the announcement, especially when an alternative was given; that 'perhaps anchoring off' the northern banks (Toronga Zoo) is a viable option, meaning world cruise passengers would need to tender to shore - in a city suggested to HAVE IT ALL!
With an ever increase of LARGE ships expected during our 2012-13 summer (Cunard, Royal Caribbean & Celebrity included), one hesitates to wonder how we'll accommodate them!
Rhapsody of The Seas - Leaner Departure
Australian favourite Rhapsody of The Seas recently departed Australia with a nice character-lift; a refurb completed in Singapore during her South Pacific summer stay.
Sleeker than ever, it's been suggested she's surpassed the good looks of larger sister Radiance; her open spaces have been revitalised and inner areas (cabins, lower deck carpets/furnishings etc) are renewed whilst restaurants, cafes have taken on a whole new look.
Bookings are beginning to flow for her new season commencing September this year, itineraries can be viewed here.
Celebrity Announces 2013/14 Solstice Cruises
Celebrity Cruises has already announced a return for Solstice in Australia for a new 2013/14 summer season, before she's even due to arrive later in 2012!
Solid bookings for Solstice's 2012 season have proven 'Aussies like style, Aussies like variation, and they like affordable and new cruising options" - so her return should be as exciting as her arrival!
Join our group for a 3 day cruise temptation departing Sydney 17 January 2014 and see what both Solstice and Celebrity Cruises have to offer the Australian cruise passenger!
Bookings can be made by emailing Cruisescene direct or view details here.

Persuaded by online booking cruise specials?
Don't be. To say "It's cheaper to book online", is a fallacy. Before you sign up to any so-called discounted online booking 'Special', be sure you shop around.
Some online booking facilties bind you to a contract of sale. ie. There's no turning back. Be sure to shop around... Most often it's more plausible to speak to a cruise specialist first-hand, because fares change day to day, these reasons can be explained by a professional cruise consultant, which may result in huge savings for the customer.
Australia the lucky cruise country?
Until a couple of years ago, many cruise buffs chose to book international cruises with agencies overseas. My, how 'what goes around, comes around'.
Australia, now with a strong $AUD v's $USD; cruise fares are better valued here at home than ever before with US or UK agencies. Funnily, we're beginning to receive the same enquiries from other countries, similarly to Aussies enquiring overseas for a better deal!
TIP: Book at home. Yes, we CAN match or better any overseas published fare quote; PLUS: we'll find you the best Air Fare package and we'll actually ADVISE & PROFESSIONALLY CONSULT YOU on your entire holiday package. You won't get that from a home-based self-professed US or UK expert.
NOTE: Cross Border Reservations (ie. persons booking a cruise from one country, to an agent overseas) is frowned upon by most liners. Reservations may therefore by rejetced by such cruise lines and in the event a passenger is denied boarding, onus is upon the passenger/s, to accept the liners decision in that their cruise holiday is worthless. Be aware!
We will not be beaten on a cruise quote!
Our cruise fare match/beat policy is better than most. If you have a quote already but want to experience our experience, simply forward us your quote and we'll aim to match or better it. Our deals could surprise you, so may our special inclusions and the extra mile we go to help ensure you have a cruise holiday of a life time.
